In November 2017 the 4th Internationa archaeological colloquium “Roman ceramic and glass manufactures. Production and trade in the Adriatic area” will be held. This year the main theme is enalarged to encompass areas beyond the Adriatic. The Call for papers and Registration form are available here.
The 4th edition of our colloquy would like to address certain topic that emerged from the activities of RED project, as well as from the cooperations that were established during its durtation. Firstly, the topic of the landscape will be address through the analysis of natural resources and distribution possibilities within ceramic and glass production, to which the second theme, that of waterways distribution, is connected as well. A separate theme is dedicated to ceramic building materials production, an often neglected segment of ceramic production, while, traditionally, there will be a space dedicated to pottery production evidence and pottery studies.
Colloquy organisers are the Insitute of Archaeology (Project RED) and the Crikvenica Town Museum, in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology of the University of Zadar (Project AdriaS) and the University of Ghent.
