Field work in Plemići bay

Project RED PI G. Lipovac Vrkljan with collaborators M. Ilkić, A. Konestra and N. Šegvić, and in cooperation with the Department of archaeology of the Univeristy of Zadar, have carried out architectural and fotogrammetric documenting of the ancient architecture visible in Plemići bay.

Due to strong sea erosion which continuously changes the morphology of the coastal belt of the bay, documenting the visible remains of ancient architecture connected to the previously established pottery workshop was imperative. The data is also key for a more comprehensive interpretation of the ancient complex which encompassed both docking facilities and pottery production.
